President

Eastern Malibu Big Rock - District 2

Jo and her family of 5 moved to Malibu in 2013. She is originally from Toronto, Canada moving all across the US since 2000 and landing in Los Angeles in 2010. After serving on the Board of Directors for the Big Rock Property Owner's Association for five years she was elected president. She arranged supplies and donations from Eastern Malibu for those stranded after the Woolsey Fire and was instrumental in obtaining generators to power the water pumps in Big Rock during power outages and wildfires. She is responsible for the repair of 20 out of 24 dewatering wells and over half of the hydraugers of the formerly deteriorated system in Big Rock. This led to her appointment on the City's Public Works Commission where she is current Chair.

She stands by the City's Vision and Mission Statement and strongly opposes variances for large developments on our delicate beaches and landslide areas. She is fighting to make our city planning department work well for residents' small projects, septic operating permits and reduce their prohibitive fees and also speed up the process for like for like fire rebuilds.
